The Altar

Missionary Jim Elliot wrote, "I have never seen anything quite like Altar--it seems to be a whole range in itself with a half dozen peaks, at least, all snowcapped. They were beautiful last evening." 

Skate Park

This is a skate park in Ambato. It was fully decorated with grafitti. However it was completely abandoned. My guess is that the government had it bulit, but with ecuador being a third-world country, no one can afford the equipment necessary to put facilities like this to use.

Grass-roof Hut

On our first day there, we hiked deep into the jungle. It was drizzling steadily all day, so we took cover when we came upon this grass-roof hut, over looking a waterfall.

Blue Bug

This was one of the few bright colored vehicles we saw in Ecuador. It was parked on the side of the street, so i took this picture from the second floor of the "Comedor".

Stray Dog

This was a stray dog that wandered up to our group in a small city at the base of a volcano that had been wiped out a couple years earlier.
